This bike maywell be a collector I¹m not certain.
Anyway, here¹s what I know: Raleigh Delta (56cm)coffee/brown/red colour IRC Hp 90 rubber with Araya 27x1/14 rims Weinmann 730 front/rear brakes (center pull I think)Tange 5 fully lugged frame with an elongated chain stay (I thought thismight indicate touring use)Custom-A cranks (165)MK-SOU 2K pedals (no cages but they have mounts)Suntour 7 drivetrain with stem mounted shifters SR seat, seat post and stem. I don't recall that exact bike, but I'd guess it's from the late '70'sto mid '80's, back when I was working in the local bike shop. None of the parts sounds particularly collectible, either. Put some new tires, cablesand brake shoes on it and go out for a ride.
Please fill out this survey from the folks over at People For Bikes so Raleigh can be a part of the Places For Bikes' City Snapshot!
Per their website, the city ratings are "a data-driven system identifying the best U. cities for biking and rewarding those that are improving the fastest".
Most older Sturmey-Archer hubs have two or three-letter model codes, which are usually stamped onto the hub shell.
Conveniently, they also usually have the month and the last two digits of the year of manufacture stamped onto the shell.
Your responses in conjunction with the data we provide will help us to compare Raleigh's current and future bike infrastructure with other cities around the country. Special thanks to the Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department for installing a new bike repair station at the Walnut Creek Wetland Center (located next to the Walnut Creek and Little Rock trails).
It joins the stations at Umstead State Park, Anderson Point Park, and Marble's Children's Museum.Between 1925 and the cessation of cycle production during the Second World War, letters prefixed or suffixed the running frame number although no indication is given of the starting point of the numbers. They seem to reflect only the number of machines produced whilst each letter was in use.
